Grand View Introduces the HyFlex Model for Fall 2020
June 23, 2020
Grand View University is planning for in-person classes this fall with social distancing and safety measures in place. That plan will be strengthened by the implementation of “HyFlex” course model that allows for course delivery that is flexible and adaptable and that will meet the needs of all students.
Grand View faculty members are preparing their courses following a new HyFlex model that supports:
- Face-to-face instruction in a classroom
- Instruction in an online environment at the same time the class meets for face-to-face instruction (synchronous instruction)
- Specific learning activities that students can do on their own schedule as well as the ability to view a recording of in-class lectures, demonstrations, or discussions (asynchronous instruction)

Grand View exists to support our students and to serve society by preparing them to meet the needs of our communities. Now is an important time for students to continue their education. Experience with recent economic recessions shows that when employers start hiring again, the available jobs favor college graduates.
